PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency

Residency Requirements

  • Complete inpatient orientation and 6 required rotations: General Medicine or Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Ambulatory Care, Infectious Diseases, and Administration
  • Complete 4-5 elective rotations
  • P&T Committee involvement and presentation of a drug monograph
  • Complete a clinical service or research project aimed towards improving pharmacy services or patient care
  • Present results of the project at the Western States Conference for Pharmacy Residents and Preceptors
  • Participate in hospital teaching activities
  • Staff in a distributive role within the inpatient pharmacy

Residency Qualifications

Qualified residency applicants must possess a Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy and must be eligible for pharmacist licensure in California. Applicants must also be registered with the ASHP Resident Matching Program.

Stipend and Benefits

  • Stipend: $45,000
  • Benefits: medical, dental, vision
  • Vacation: 10 working days
  • Holidays: 10 official holidays and 4 floating holidays
  • Support for attending conferences and the Western States Conference for Pharmacy Residents and Preceptors
