San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center

PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency

To provide quality healthcare and trauma services with compassion and respect

San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (SFGH) is the safety net hospital and only Level 1 Trauma Center for the vibrant City and County of San Francisco. One of the finest public hospitals in the country, SFGH serves a very diverse patient population and is known for its quality trauma, psychiatric, and HIV care. Our physicians are UCSF faculty and residents, and we are a training site for pharmacy residents and student pharmacists from UCSF and Touro University. In this dynamic setting, the Department of Pharmacy Services provides quality patient-centered care with compassion and respect. We will be offering 2 PGY-1 pharmacy resident positions for 2016-2017.

The hospital based, 12-month, PGY-1 residency program strives to develop skilled acute care practitioners and pharmacy leaders who are prepared to assume a position as a clinical pharmacist or pursue a PGY-2 residency or fellowship. Along with the core experiences, additional clinical practice experiences can be tailored to fit the resident's specific goals, and may include a variety of teaching and student mentoring opportunities.
